Allocation is the process of distributing asylum seekers to the responsible initial reception centre within Germany. After a person has requested asylum from an official body (asylum application), they are forwarded to the nearest reception centre: This is where the person is registered and the initial reception facility responsible for them is determined. Allocation is done via the computer-controlled EASY distribution system, which uses various criteria to determine which federal state and which initial reception facility is responsible for the person concerned. This process is called "Zuweisung" or "Verteilung"
