Can my child get school admission if they don’t speak English?

We are applying for family reunification in Germany. My child does not speak or understand English or German yet. Can my child still be admitted to a school after arriving? Are there special language support programs for children who are new to the language?

Familyreunification of my mother as a doctor with blue card

Hello,

i'm a doctor holding a blue card for the first time since June 2025. I'd like to bring my mother (60 years old and retired) to live with me in Germany. My current Salary from the hospital amounts to 48300 euros Brutto. I'm financially stable and have savings and my mom has a stable retirement income from our home country(Iraq). Regarding the new immigration act in 2024, i'm allowed to bring her here through family reunification, my question is what is going to happen after she comes? is she going to get a blue card? She is not going to work in Germany and will depend on her income from Homecountry, so what is going to happen to the blue card then? how is she going to reside here legally without work? when will she be able to apply for Niederlassung?

Another question regarding Health Insurance, if she's not working then should i register her with PKV? can i get her to be insured with my own GKV?

I'm very thankful for any help or tips regarding my inquiry.

Best regards.

Change Residence Permit

Hi,My wife has § 18A AufenthG resident permit living in Germany, and I am an Opportunity Card holder also residing in Germany along with her. I would like to know if she can apply for a spouse visa for me while I am already in Germany and, is it possible to convert my Opportunity Card residence permit into a spouse residence permit without leaving Gemenay? Currently we are leaving in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg.

Benefits

I am currently on a student visa with a 3 year old child originally from the UK. I am not sure if i am entitled to any benefits such as child benefits or any other social benefits. I currently do not have a job and need financial support. I receive child benefit from the UK as my partner pays taxes in the UK and will be registering to pay taxes here. However the child benefit amount is not as much as the kindergeld, do we need to cancel the UK child benefit to receive kindergeld here or can we be paid the difference?

Regarding kindergarten cost reduction

Hello and thank you for your work! I have the following problem, I came in Germany in the autumn with my family, husband and daughter, since I started a master. I found a kindergarten and my daughter started there, I was inform that I can have a reduction of the kindergarten cost so I applied in the municipality and was granted the reduction. I have a mini job and will start another one soon, my husband is not working yet. When I moved in a specific city, while I was living in a different rural location of the same discrict, I reapplied in the city municipality this time for the reduction and I was told that they can not take into account my application and can not give me a reduction because my income is extremely low. Is this even possible? Only with a higher income and if my husband gets social assistance they told me that they may grant me the reduction. So a family with a very low income can not be helped with the kindergarten cost but if a family earns more money they can, is this thing reasonable and lawful?

Maintenance Orders

Hello,

Does anyone know if a parent can stop paying child maintenance whilst a deed of maintenance is going through the court process. Up until now he has been paying a voluntary amount which is below the Dusseldorf table so the mother has applied for an official agreement to be put in place, allegedly he has been told he doesn't have to pay until such time as it's been sorted in court, is this true?

Wedding appointment but no chance for a timely visa

I have been working with a registry office in Germany regarding my wife’s wedding appointment for over a year. She currently lives in Afghanistan. Now, my application has been approved, and we are allowed to get married in mid-September. I have researched and wanted to apply for a visa for my wife, which is only possible at the moment either in Islamabad or Tehran. I have registered in the queue there, but the waiting time is over a year. Now, I face the problem that I need the visa for my wife beforehand to ensure the September appointment can take place. Are there any options to get the appointment earlier? Has anyone had experience with this?

Questions about marriage in germany

Hello everyone,

First I want to thank everyone for the hard work you're doing by answering and helping people in need, I really admire and appreciate that, thank you.

One of the requiments for the marriage visa is "Anmeldung zur Eheschließung" which confirms our date in the stadtamt that we are going to marry. Well my fiance already did that and we're waiting for paper to be prepared and it should be ready in a month or so. My question is that in my home country we don't know when exactly is the appointment for our visa to deposit our papers, they say it's more than 12 months but nothing specific. I've tried to contact them but no one is really helping. My question is that the Anmeldung zur Eheschließung expires in 6 months, it possible to renew it if im not called bu the embassy in time. I've already waited 11 months and they could call me in 3 months then treat my visa application for another 3 months which would cause the paper to expire.. what should I do?

My second question is that my fiance has its own apartment and it's spacious for both of us but she's not paying rent because it's her father's house which Is connected to her parents house, is that a problem or does she need to move out? Keep in mind thay the apartment has its own door and own kitchen etc... thank you for helping me

Keeping permanent residency if I move abroad

I hold the EU-Daueraufenhalt (and am a former Blue Card holder) and am marrying my German partner but we need to move abroad for his work, possibly before my citizenship application is accepted. I've read on a few sites that I can keep my right of permanent residency as the spouse of a German citizen but I can't find the legal basis for this. Is it true that the spouse of a German citizen with the EU-Daueraufenhalt can keep permanent residence and if so, do I need to inform the immigration office when I leave?

REAPPLY SCHENGEN VISA

Hi guys! I have a question. My mom, dad and brother applied for a Schengen visa and all three got approved. They got multiple-entry. However my mom’s visa validity is different from my dad’s and brother’s. Hers is valid from October 30-December 15 while my dad’s is December 15-January 20.

My mom will be flying to Germany to make use of her visa. Granting she will go back home on November 23, can she immediately apply for a new visa so she could join my dad and brother on their trip to Germany on December 12?

Thanks in advance!
