Hi @Happy2_ , thank you for your inquiry. These answers are provisional, as we do not know your exact situation and cannot give legal advice. Your question about how much money you have to pay for your accommodation and how much money you still receive from the social welfare office is not easy to answer as there are different regulations in each federal state and the amount can vary depending on whether you live in accommodation or in your own flat, for example. As an asylum seeker, you will receive benefits in accordance with the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act. You can read the approximate amounts here: https://www.bmas.de/DE/Soziales/Sozialhilfe/LeistungenAsylbewerberleist…. As a single adult or a single parent, you are entitled to €196 per month in "necessary personal needs". In addition, you are entitled to 245€ for ‘necessary needs’ - this includes the costs of accommodation, food, toiletries, etc. You may not receive this amount in cash because it is used to pay for your food in the canteen at your accommodation, for example. We recommend that you contact your social welfare officer or a social worker at your accommodation and ask them for advice.

What can you do next?

I hope this information is helpful for you. If you have further questions, please let me know.

Kind regards, Franziska
