Apartment for sick people

I have already provided background information in another question so here I quickly write it again. I am Ortskräfte I came to Germany legally according to S22. I am not Asylum Seeker. It has been 1.5 year that we live in Heim in one room. My mother is sick. I tried many ways even I got WBS but because my hair is black I cant find an apartment. Can I log an official complain against Sozialamt, Stadh Rathaus if yes how and where I can find lawyer to help me? I want a solution if you can help. Authorities in my city discriminating against us.

Dear @gazimi thank you for reaching out to us. I am very sorry to hear about your situation. There are anti-discrimination associations, who provide councelling you can reach out to, e.g. ADVD or the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency. Generally, if someone has a residence permit according §22, they are allowed to move out of a communal accommodation. However, the requirement to stay within the same district (Landkreis) still applies. This means, if you want to move to a different district or state, you need to either have your residence requirement lifted or apply for redistribution. A migration counselling center can support you with that. You can find a close one to you on the website of BAMF or please tell me the city/zip code you are currently living and I can support you finding one. Since your last post was a while ago, did you still live in Haan? Nevertheless, generally, for moving out of communal accommodation into one's own apartment involves searching for a place to live on your own. As you already received a WBS, you might want to try to contact provider of social housing. Wish you good luck in finding your own place to stay. Please let me know if you have further questions.

@My Nguyen_Community Managerin thank you for information. I tried many approaches to excercise my rights but unfortunately still I am struggling with it. Actually, the Stadth Haan is unfair to us. My mother is sick and she cannot stay with my children in one room. Nobody hear us. Even with a WBS I cantacted several firms but they denied to give me an apartment. If you can give me a clear instruction either I have to claim my rights from city of Haan or some organisation who can help legal "Aufnahmefluschtlung" tnx

Dear @gazimi thank you for your patience. I have reached out to a counselling center who also supports people find a flat. They work with Caritas: https://www.caritas-mettmann.de/hilfen-angebote/menschen-in-krisen/wohn… Unfortunately, they haven't returned my call. You might want to reach out to them as well. Nevertheless, it seems like the housing market in Haan and the surrounding area is overloaded. The demand for apartments is higher than the offers, so it is currently very difficult to find an apartment. I can imagine that it is very frustrating, however, many are currently going through this as well. I found some websites, where you can register yourself and get notifications, as soon as they have a suitable offer for you: - https://www.bauverein-haan.de/angebote - https://www.sahle-wohnen.de/wohnen-in/haan/ You might want to fill out the application with the counselling center. They also are very likely to suggest you further real estate providers in your area. Beforehand you can prepare all the necessary documents for your application. On our website you might find those information useful for your preparation: https://handbookgermany.de/en/search-a-flat Additionally, I am very sorry to hear that you feel discriminated. I found two specialized discrimination counselling center for you. Unfortunately, those are the closest one. One is Diakonie in Solingen: https://ada-diakonie-solingen.de/ The other one is provided by Deutsches Rotes Kreuz close to Düsseldorf: https://www.drk-duesseldorf.de/angebote/migration-und-integration/integ… They have a program which specialized in home search and discrimination against non-german applicants. My fingers are crossed that you will find a suitable place to stay soon. Please let me know, in case something remains unclear.
