@Mohiadin thank you for your question. Sometimes it takes years to get a response from the Federal Foreign Office. But please let me know in which country you would like to make an appointment and for what the appointment is (family reunion, a work visa, ... ?). Could you send me the link you used to make the appointment? Best Barbara

Dear Barbara,

Thank you for your response. I understand that the processing times can be lengthy.

I would like to make an appointment for family reunification in Germany. I used the following link to make the appointment: https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin.

Additionally, my wife and my son and daughter live in Kassel. My wife has not been feeling well for the last eight months, and I’m unsure how to proceed. I applied for a Schengen visa, but it was rejected. I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter.

Can I change my earlier appointment to privileged family reunification? Also, is there any online tracking available to check the status of my application?

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards,

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Dear Mohiadin,  Thank you for your reply, please check the conditions for family reunification: https://handbookgermany.de/en/family-reunification#faq_324 If your family meets all the requirements, you can apply for family reunification. Unfortunately, you will have to wait a long time to get an appointment, even more than a year. What about a work visa? Please check if this is an easier option for you: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types Please, let us know if you have any further questions. Best Barbara

I submitted a an appointment for reunification on April 21, 2024, but I still haven't received any response. Since I want to unite with my wife, is there a way for me to check the status of my application

If you want to get a work permit in Germany, in general, you must be considered a skilled worker: https://handbookgermany.de/en/recognition If your degree/qualification is already recognized you will need to apply for jobs: https://handbookgermany.de/en/jobsearch-and-application#faq_108  As soon as you receive a work contract/job offer, you are able to apply for a job visa at your local German embassy.
