Child custody/parent verbal abuse in front of the child

Me and my partner separated. We divide time with our 3 year old son. Father has full access to the child and can spent time with our son whenever he wants.

When he is angry at me he allows himself to scream and swear at me in front of our son.

I want him to go to psychologist to deal with anger management. Until then I don’t want my son to be exposed to this type of behaviour.

What can I do to protect me and my son?

We were not married, but the father has vaterschaftsanerkennung. We all live in Frankfurt.

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,

Nina

Hallo @nina.m  , I understand this is a difficult situation. I suggest that you contact the Jugendamt in Frankfurt. They can offer support such as mediation to find a solution to this problem. You could also contact Pro Familia: https://www.profamilia.de/angebote-vor-ort/hessen/beratungsstelle-frank… They offer counseling and mediation services for families.
My advice is to document everything. Keep a record of dates and times when your ex yells or swears at you in front of your son. This can be helpful evidence if legal action becomes necessary. Finally, you may want to contact a lawyer who specialises in family law. Best wishes, Barbara
