In critical health condition

Hi,

One of the female students in our community, who is originally from Pakistan, fell ill three weeks ago. Unfortunately, her condition has worsened over time. Without family here and only a few friends, she experienced a panic attack and is now in a critical state, currently in the ICU.

Due to her mental health struggles, she is not cooperating with the doctors regarding her treatment. We've done our best to support her, but as we're not very close to her, our efforts haven't been effective.

Is there any way to apply for a visa for her mother or father to be with her during her recovery? She is not in a condition to travel back to Pakistan.

Thank you.

Hello @root , thank you for reaching out to us. I hope she recovers quickly. Being away from your family in a new country can be very difficult.

We have also more information on mental health and organisations that could support her here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/mental-health
Finally, it depends on the residence status that she has and her age if she can bring her parents to Germany. Usually, you cannot bring your parents if you are already over 18 years old. There are some hardship clauses and exceptions but for this it is important to receive legal advice, which we cannot provide on this platform.
