Elterngeld/ EU

One of the required attachments for maternity allowance application is the proof of salary of the last 12 months.
Do these payslips need to be translated? Is my own translation enough?
I worked in another EU-country up until the 6th months of my pregnancy. We moved to Germany due to husband's job.
We live in Rhineland if that matters.
Thank you!

Dear @Dela  , thank you for getting in touch. Yes, you'll need to get your payslips from your previous EU country translated into German. You could try doing it yourself, but it's probably best to get a professional translator. They'll make sure the translation is accurate and legally binding. It's a good idea to contact the relevant German authorities to find out exactly what you need to do to get your maternity allowance or advice center on Elterngeld: https://familienportal.de/familienportal/meta/languages/family-benefits or https://bamf-navi.bamf.de/de/Themen/Migrationsberatung/ (family advice) If you have any further questions, please let us know.
