European Insurance Card

I am an EU citizen with a valid European Insurance Card. Can I visit a doctor in Germany with this card without paying? Is any meditation given by the doctor also covered by the card?

Dear @gch86  , Thank you for contacting us. If you need medical treatment, you should go directly to a doctor who has a contract with a German health insurance fund. You can find a list of registered doctors here: https://www.kbv.de/html/arztsuche.php (unfortunately just in German). You do not usually have to pay in advance for most medical services in Germany. However, if you have been charged for your treatment, you can apply for reimbursement from your health insurance company when you return home.
Details of your card you can find on this website: https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=1021&langId=en&intPageId=1738 Best Barbara
