Family Reunification

Family reunification

I’m lailuma. I would like to ask you regarding my husband. I live in Germany and my husband live in Belgium. I would like he join to us and he live with us in Germany. In addition, we received our identity cards  and resident card for 3 years and we apply for reunification 2nd month after we received our ID cards. Is it possible that he join to us from Belgium?

Hello @lailumaahmadzai , thank you for your question on our platform. To give you more guidance I would need a bit more information. If your husband can join you in Germany usually depends on the type of residency you have. If for example you have received a refugee status or are a recognized asylum seeker, then you have only 3 months to apply (from the date of the decision from BAMF) for the family reunification to benefit from the so called “easy procedure” You can read more information here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/family-reunification It would also be helpful to know what city you are currently in, so I can also help you find a counseling center. You can also search for a free advice center by yourself using the BAMF Navi: https://bamf-navi.bamf.de/en/Themen/Migrationsberatung/ Please let me know if you need help in finding a counseling center or if you have any further questions. I am always happy to help. Best wishes Yara
