Dear @Haqmal thank you for reaching out to us again. To give you a proper answer, I would like to know a bit more about your current situation. From your previous questions, we know that you came through a student visa and applied for asylum in February. Are there some news? Happy if you would like to share some more about your situation.

Yes. but still there is no any progress in my asylum. I would like to let you know that I have finished my studies and work as researcher. I received a n email from Auslanderbeh to apply for extension of your residence permit but it requires health insurance certificate and proves of financial for expenses. I consulted a lawyer he said you can apply for 18c Auftname G Visa and you will receive 2 years residence permit. kind regards Haqmal

Thank you for sharing your situation, @Haqmal Did I understand correctly, that you finished your studies already and still holding a residence permit as a student? Did the foreigners department asked you to extend that permit (§16 AufenthG)? In case you don't have a new work contract or proof of financial means, the chances of an extension or change to any residence permit according to a work basis will be very difficult to apply for. For each work permit, you will need to show financial means and an health insurance certificate. Since you were covered by a foreign health insurance company, it is more difficult to switch to a German health insurance without a job. If your former foreign health insurance will be accepted by any German health insurance provider, you could also subscribe voluntarily and pay the fee (about 210€/month). Did you mention your former health insurance in your previous applications? In case you have a work permit, you can look for a job, where you can earn more that 520€ per month, so you should be able to apply for health insurance as well. Nevertheless, since you applied for asylum, you should be covered with health insurance - at least an emergency care. The kind of health insurance depends on the length of your stay in Germany. In case it is more that 18 months, you are able to apply for health insurance for refugees. If your duration is less than 18 months, then you are covered with that emergency health care. Depending on the federal state you are living, you will receive a health care card or need to apply for a voucher. You can find more information on Handbook Germany about healthcare for refugees. Anyways, it is very recommendable to reach out to a migration councelling center to get more options. They will review your documents with you and can guide you through the next steps. Unlike, legal advice, a migration counselling is free of charge. If you would like to share the city you are currently living, I am happy to look for a close counselling center for you. Alternatively, you can check it yourself on the following website: https://bamf-navi.bamf.de/en/Themen/Migrationsberatung/ Happy if you get back to me or let me know if you have further questions.

Dear @Haqmal I am always happy about feedback. You are welcome to tell me what you did not understand and I will do my best to clarify and to support you further. Unfortunately, you have not yet told me which title you would like to have extended at the foreigners department. Are you still a student or did you already finished your studies successfully? Or are you now registered as an asylum seeker? . As I have already pointed out above, you can apply with your old foreign insurance at the German providers to insure yourself voluntarily. I also tried to tell you that you are insured in Germany. During the asylum procedure you can claim medical care. If you would like to tell me where you live, I will be happy to find an migration counseling center near you. They can help you apply to other health insurance companies or show you other options. Happy to get your feedback.
