Hello @ALI RAZA
thank you for your question.
Child Benefit ("Kindergeld") is a financial support to cover the costs for the everyday life of your child. You can either apply via the online form from the Federal Employment Agency or can download the application form in different languages and hand it in. Please make sure that there are 2 application forms that needs to be filled out: Application for child benefit and an appendix.
.
As a parent, you can receive Child Benefit if you meet the following requirements:
- Your child is under the age of 18
- Your child lives with you, and you are responsible for their care. This does not only apply to your biological child. You can also receive Child Benefit for adopted children, grandchildren, foster children or stepchildren.
.
You must also meet one of the following residence requirements:
- You have German citizenship.
- You have a residence permit that allows you to work in Germany for at least 6 months, regardless of whether you are actually working or not. The only thing that matters is that you are allowed to work in Germany.
You can read more about child benefit on Handbook Germany. Please let me know if you have further questions.
