Questions about marriage in germany

Hello everyone,

First I want to thank everyone for the hard work you're doing by answering and helping people in need, I really admire and appreciate that, thank you.

One of the requiments for the marriage visa is "Anmeldung zur Eheschließung" which confirms our date in the stadtamt that we are going to marry. Well my fiance already did that and we're waiting for paper to be prepared and it should be ready in a month or so. My question is that in my home country we don't know when exactly is the appointment for our visa to deposit our papers, they say it's more than 12 months but nothing specific. I've tried to contact them but no one is really helping. My question is that the Anmeldung zur Eheschließung expires in 6 months, it possible to renew it if im not called bu the embassy in time. I've already waited 11 months and they could call me in 3 months then treat my visa application for another 3 months which would cause the paper to expire.. what should I do?

My second question is that my fiance has its own apartment and it's spacious for both of us but she's not paying rent because it's her father's house which Is connected to her parents house, is that a problem or does she need to move out? Keep in mind thay the apartment has its own door and own kitchen etc... thank you for helping me

Welcome to our forum! Thank you for your question, @ArtoriasDD !
It is great that you have already taken all the necessary steps to get married soon.

However, I understand your concern that the processing of the visa could be delayed so that your "Anmeldung zur Eheschließung" might expires. As far as my research from some federal states has shown, an extension of that document is unfortunately probably not possible. This means that you may have to submit the application again.
I would be happy to check with your registry office again to see how things are organized there if you tell me where your fiancé lives. Your fiancé can of course also ask there herself.

Regarding your second question, it should not be a problem if your fiancée have a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung). You should also have no problems if your future father-in-law can issue you a so-called “Wohnungsgeberbescheinigung” so that you can register with the residents' registration office after your arrival. You can find more information about that here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/registration

I hope you will receive an appointment soon and your visa will get processed fast. Happy if you get back to me and feel free to ask if you have further questions.
