Seeking asylum

Hello
I am a journalist and it has been one and a half years since I fled Afghanistan and came to Iran due to security and religious threats.  Now I live a bad life in Iran and I feel very dangerous.  How can I apply for asylum in Germany?

Hello @Rahimi12 , thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, you can only apply for asylum once you are in Germany. We have provided more information on the asylum procedure in Germany here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/asylum-procedure Since we are receiving a lot of questions at the moment, I will provide a more detailed response soon. Best wishes Yara

Hi @Rahimi12 , unfortunately there are currently no programs for particular threatened Afghans in Iran, that will allow them to come to Germany. The new federal program for Afghans is only for those still in Afghanistan as @khan20 mentioned. You can find more information on our Afghanistan info page: https://handbookgermany.de/fa/afghanistan-info?thema=bundesaufnahmeprog… The other way to come to Germany is through the general visa process. Here you can find more information about the different types of visas and the application process here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/immigration I hope this information was useful. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again. Best wishes Yara
