Separate visa application for spouse using fast track procedure
Hi,
I'm from Tunisia, and I recently applied to fast track for blue card visa. In the fast track application, my spouse have been included, and I got the pre-approval letter with my spouse's name on it.
I've booked separate visa appointments for me and my spouse at TLS as I have to apply ASAP, and she cannot apply at the same time as me.
When I went to the appointment, the TLSContact agent stated that if my wife is not present in my appointment, she cannot attend a separate appointment later for the fast track procedure, and she needs to get an appointment from the embassy, which usually takes more then 12 months.
From what I know, my wife, can in fact apply for the fast track procedure as she has been included in the pre-approval letter.
I've been trying to reach the German embassy in Tunisia (by phone/email) but no response at all.
I went to the embassy myself, the staff was not helpful, all they said was, she has to apply via TLS (whereas TLS told me to apply at the embassy).
What should I do please ?
Thank you in advance.
Dear @mehdi753 , thank you for reaching out to us.
First of all, congratulations on your job! It is also great that your employer supported you and your wife with the accelerated procedure!
Unfortunately, as it is also stated on the website of the German embassy of Tunis (Prepare application, 1. Terminvereinbarung), you and your wife should have applied together at TLS. Since her visa is depending on yours, only then the application can be processed and issued together.
Did I understand correctly, that you already submitted your application without your wife at TLS? Since you already applied, now your wife needs to apply through a regular family reunification. That’s why the German embassy is responsible and she needs to get waitlisted here. Unfortunately, as you already mentioned, it can take up to 12 months to receive an appointment. I am sorry that I have no better news for you and hope you can get in touch with the embassy to get another information or the possibility to get her through the accelerated process as well - my fingers are crossed!
Please let me know if you have further questions. Wish you all the best!
