trash system

Hi, I would like to know more the recycled system about Germany!

If I want to throw away a garment or backpack but with trims and zipper on it. Where should I throwout? Thank you guys so much!

Hi @miko , thank you for your question. It is the Restmüll, so you should put a garment or backpack in the black or gray bin: https://handbookgermany.de/en/waste-separation#faq_534 There are also clothing bins where you can dispose of the unwanted but usable clothes. Best, Barbara

Hi Barbara! thank you so much!! Also, i would like to ask something about plastic, there are so many different types of plastic, where should i put plastic type 6 (polystyrene)? can i put it in yellow bin? thank you so much!!!! Best, Miko

@miko Polystyrene that has been used as packaging and is regularly generated in the household belongs in the yellow bin. Polystyrene that is generated during renovation, i.e. used as insulation material, should be disposed of in the Restmüll.

Hi, also i saw on some website said clothing and textiles must not be disposed in household waste. So i was so confused T_T i am afraid that i put in on the wrong bin TT
