Our commitment – to new immigrants

We still remember exactly what it felt like to be new in Germany. Most essential information is often only available in German– and it isn't easy to find what you need on time. At the same time, social media is full of fake news and confusing rumours.

We know from our own experience that access to correct information and advice is very important in order to lead a self-determined and independent life in Germany. That's exactly why we have invested ourselves in creating a digital platform to provide newcomers with what they need most.

Our project Handbook Germany: Together – the central digital hub – brings together the information platform, community forum and search engine, Local information, to look for on-site counselling and support.

All our offers are available in nine languages: German, Farsi/Dari, English, Pashto, Turkish, French, Arabic, Ukrainian and Russian. Because everyone is entitled to access to information and support.

Since we are part of the respective language communities ourselves, we know about your needs. This means we always strive to tailor our offers to your needs and situations as they emerge.

Over 150 essential themes are already covered on handbookgermany.de.

Here you will find information on topics such as residence, German courses, family, health, daycare, housing and participation in the labour market.

  • We research and check our content and always keep it up to date.
  • We clarify complex issues simply but in detail.
  • We make state-related processes accessible and support offers visible.

If you have any questions, visit our multilingual community forum. There, you can ask your questions anonymously, seek answers from our team and experts and connect with others to exchange ideas within your community.

In addition to our community forum, there are many other contact points for newcomers in Germany, both online and on-site, that offer free and confidential advice and support.

You can find offers in your area via our search engine Local Information. In addition to counselling services, this comprehensive database can help you find language cafés, orientation courses, networking opportunities and leisure activities.

Simply enter your topic and your place of residence to find what you seek:

Our local information offers over 2000 "hand-picked" offers nationwide and is constantly updated.
