Appointment

Dear Madam/Sir,

On 22 September, I received an email stating that “it is now possible once again to apply for your selected type of application at your German mission.”

I had already applied for an appointment on 1 April 2023. After receiving the email, I noticed that the online system for Afghan students at the German Embassy in Islamabad was available for about two days. However, when I recently visited the website, the online application section for Afghans now shows that it is not available.

Could you kindly clarify the following points:

  1. When will the online application system for Afghan students open again?
  2. Why is it currently unavailable?
  3. Will my previous appointment request from April 2023 still remain active, or has it been deactivated under the new system?

I would greatly appreciate your guidance regarding my case.

Thank you very much for your support.

Kind regards,

Hi! I’m not an expert, but I’ll share what I know and link to official sources.

The online visa system for Afghan students at the German Embassy in Islamabad has been opening only for short periods of time and then closing again when the quota of applications is full. That’s why you could see it available for a couple of days and then “not available” again. This is a similar practice in many other institutions. Unfortunately, there isn’t a public schedule for when it will reopen — the Embassy activates it depending on capacity. But, from what I experience, the night hours, like 0-3 AM usually quite active for such opportunities. To stay updated, you need to check the Embassy’s website regularly and also monitor their official announcements.

Your previous registration (from April 2023) does not automatically stay active under the new system. Usually, when the Embassy changes or reopens a booking system, they require applicants to register again once the slots are available.

I know it’s frustrating, but unfortunately the only way is to wait for the system to reopen and then reapply quickly. You can also write directly to the Embassy’s visa section to ask if your April request is still valid — but in most cases, a new application is needed. There is a phone number stated on the Facebook page -

Hope this helps,

Anna

Dear @Shirza welcome to our forum!

I can agree with Anna and would like to add that you need to register for an appointment through the website of the German embassy in Kabul if your residence is in Afghanistan. Additionally, you can find that information about afghan applicants here: https://pakistan.diplo.de/pk-en/service/2208620-2208620

I hope you will receive an appointment soon! Wish you all the best!
