Chancenkarte

Hello everyone,

I'm currently thinking about applying for Chancenkarte, I've received an email from the Chancenkarte team that I could apply for a 6 month visa. Now, this is suitable for me since I can't provide the full amount of blocked account right now.

Now here is my situation.

I'm a dentist, i have b2 language certificate and all of my papers are legalised from german embassy in my country. When I go to germany on this Visa, is it possible to apply for a residence permit? and if so will i be getting the 16D Aufenthaltstitel since i'll doing the recognition process?

Also is it possible to extend my stay through means of employment of a part time job ( 20 hrs per week ) ?

Thank you.

Hello @silentowl998
In general, you cannot can switch from Chancenkarte to a residency for recognition.  If you enter with a visa for Chancenkarte you will be allowed to change it once you full fill the requirements.
Maybe it would be also an option to already apply for a visa for recognition of your profession. Have you considered this?
These are the requirements for the visa in order to receive 16d Aufenthaltstitel:

You can also receive help with the recognition process from abroad:
This center can help you with the recognition process.

If you are not able to make the full recognition abroad then a visa for recognition would be useful.
Also maybe the counselors from @Ansgar_IQ_NRW_West have further tips for you.

In general, with a Chancenkarte you can work for 20hours part time. You can also do two weeks of trial work. You can only extend your stay if you have enough income. The Chancenkarte is only given for up to 12months, and then extended only if you have found a qualified job.
You can read more information on the extension here:

Please keep us updated on your visa process and let us know if you have any further questions.

Best of luck!
