Changing blue card visa to job seeker visa
I came to Germany on May 2024 with blue card but my employer decided to terminate my contract without any reason (they are allowed to do so) just a week before my probation period is over and I am soon to be unemployed. Now, I am evaluating my options to continue staying in Germany as my daughter has already started her education here and I invested a lot of time and money to come & work here.
I have read that I have the option to change my visa type from blue card to job seeker visa but my familiy (daughter &wife) came here with my with blue card without the regular family reunification process. If I change my visa to job seeker visa, how my wife and daughter will be affected from that change?
Thanks in advance to whoever reads and gives advice on this.

Dear @MustafaH , Thank you for your question and I am very sorry that you are in such a stressful situation. You must report the loss of your job to the Immigration Office/Ausländerbehörde within four weeks of receiving notice from your employer. Your EU Blue Card is still valid for 3 months after you stop working in order to look for a job. Alternatively, you can apply for a residence permit to look for work for up to six months or an opportunity card for up to twelve months: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/job-search-opportunity-card. If your family has the Residence over you, then if you lose the Residence, your family will also lose the Residence. @Faire Integration BB do you have any tips for Mustafah?
If you have any further questions, please let us know. Best Barbara and Seoyoung
Dear Barbara,
Thank you very much for your advice.
I have already notified Auslander Behörde about my situation and I asked them if there is any chance to extend the 3 months any further as it is almost the end of the year and holiday season will start soon. Waiting for their response now.
I am keeping my fingers crossed, please do keep us up to date.
