Clash of traditions and regulations

Good day. I have a complex problem.

For the context, I'm in Germany with students visa, my soon to be wife is in Uzbekistan right now. She is about to apply for students visa as well, however our parents insist on marriage before she departs. This raises a lot of questions. If she gets student visa and we marry each other right before leaving, wouldn't it be a problem on the border control? I'm afraid that it might cause suspicion and in Ausländerbehörde they will deny the extension. I'm a bit confused, can someone help me with this question?

Dear @Blazko Congratulations on being accepted to university!

If you get married before your future wife enters Germany, she can apply for an interdependent title. So, if she applies for her own student visa and fulfills all the requirements, there should be no problems at the German embassy because you are married. This also applies to your extension of the residence permit at the immigration office.

Alternatively, you also have the option of applying for family reunification for your future wife. However, the financial challenges are higher, as you would have to secure the livelihood for both of you. This means that you can also apply for family reunification with a student visa if all requirements are met. You can read more about family reunification on Handbook Germany.

If you need any further information, please let us know. You can also contact a migration counseling who will take a closer look at your situation in order for you to make an informed decision. Please tell me the city where you currently live and I will be happy to help you find one.

The catch is that at the time of applying for the visa she will not yet be my wife; our parents want to register at the registry office immediately before flying to Germany after receiving the visa. And we will have 2 weeks to do everything about everything after receiving her passport with a visa back. We are trying to tell our parents that it is not so legal to change your marital status without notifying the German Embassy, and it may cause problems on the border. Because in her visa it will indicate that she is single and in the passport she will be married.

I understand your concern that there might cause discrepancies, @Blazko . However, your girlfriend should declare her marital status at the time of applying for the visa. Maybe she can already mention in her cover letter that she soon will be married. And as soon as you get married, it would be advisable to inform the German embassy that the marital status has changed. After your marriage, it would be good to have the marriage certificate translated and legalized so that she has the necessary proof when you enter the country if anything is unclear.Surely, you can also contact a migration counseling center and ask them about their practical experience. If you tell me where you live, I will be happy to find you one in your area.
I wish you all the best! If you have any further questions, please let me know.
