Convert Opportunity Card (chancenkarte) to Blue Card
I moved to Germany on 19.05.2025. I have a valid Opportunity Card visa until 18.05.2026.
I found a job that covers all the requirements of Blue Card. I have contract, job offer, anmeldung etc. I live in Berlin, and the job is in Berlin.
I used this link to convert my visa. I had an issue when I selected "Ich besitze ein Visum(I have a visa)". I selected no for "Wurde Ihr Visum zum Zweck des Studiums ausgestellt?" and yes for "Sind Sie im Besitz eines Visums zur Chancenkarte nach § 20a Aufenthaltsgesetz?"
When I want to move to the next process, I get an error. I cannot move forward because my visa is valid for more than 8 weeks.
The Opportunity Card is not usable for full-time employment. It is limited to 20 hours.
I hope there is another way to do it. I tried "Ich habe kein Visum, sondern einen anderen deutschen Aufenthaltstitel" but with this way, my visa number is not approved by system.

Unfortunately, we often hear about that problem. You need to select a shorter date for your valid visa (shorter than 8 weeks) and explain at the end your actual duration and the reason why.
