Eligibility of permanent settlement
I came to Berlin in October 2019 as IT professional , I had 15 years of experience in IT at that time. but I was not issued a blue card by Germany because my degree was not recognised here. but a part from degree all other requirements I was fulfilling like salary threshold etc...
Now with the recent change in immigration law I am issued a blue card because I have more than 18 years of IT experience.
Now what I wanted to ask is that I am here in Germany from last more then four years fulfilling all other requirements like contributions, salary threshold etc... but received my first blue card in 2024, So can I apply for permanent settlement with A1 German Language skills.

Hallo @owais_aries , thank you for your question. If you have an EU Blue Card, you can apply for a permanent residence permit after 27 months with the EU Blue Card. You only need to have made pension insurance contributions for 27 months, have a suitable job and speak German at A1 level.
