Hello @root , thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that your friend is still looking for a job. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to extend a job seeking visa. Those are only valid for 6 months. In case the person cannot find a job within that time, s:he need to leave Germany at least for the duration of their stay. In case s:he was 6 months in Germany, the persons can only apply for a new job seeker visa after 6 months abroad. Currently, there is no possibility to switch to another residence permit other than a work permit, which is only possible with a work contract/job offer. . I assume, your friend looked at the regular job posting platforms, like Indeed or Monster. Maybe your friend can also try to look up the companies he would like to work with. They also have job postings on their websites. He might will find some useful information in our chapter jobsearch and application. In case your friend is interested in some councelling, I am happy to support you finding one in your area. Please let me know where s:he currently lives and if you have further questions.

Dear @root thank you for getting back to us. Unfortunately, we currently have no possibility to contact your friend via phone. Additionally, due to data protection reason, I needed to take out the information. . In Siegen the most popular work counselling is provided from the federal employment agency: https://www.arbeitsagentur.de/vor-ort/siegen. They also have a special program for young adults under 25 years: https://www.arbeitsagentur.de/jobsuche/suche?sort=Relevanz&wo=Siegen&an… Additionally, Diakonie also offers counselling not only about migration but also about work: https://www.beratungsdienste-diakonie.de/beratungsstelle-arbeit/ Jawad can schedule an appointment. It is recommendable to bring the application documents to the appointments. I hope this might lead to a good hint and Jawad will find something suitable. Please let me know if there are more questions.

HI, I have one further question. According to new law which passed on 18th Nov 2023, Can my friend get a job which is not related to his field but can give him good salary. and with this job can he get work permit. (his current status is job seeker)

Hey @root thank you for your valuable question! It is correct that there is a new law about skilled worker. The new law opens up opportunities for skilled worker to switch their field of working: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/skilled-immigratio… Even though it is enacted, it is recommended to get in touch with the foreigners department first and ask the possibility to change the residence permit. Please note that the salary should still match the average income in that field. If the working conditions are worse, this might also causes problems. I hope this process will go smooth for your friend. Please let me know if you or your friend has more questions.

Hi @root

Thank you for the update and I'm glad your friend got a job. I'm sorry to hear it took so long to get his degree evaluated. May I ask you if your friend has found a job in a field related to his studies or not? And also, which way of job search turned out to be most helpful for him? Online? I'm curious to hear about his experiences.

Best wishes

Hi, Yes he found a job in his own field as he was not allowed to do a job which is not related to his field(old visa policy). And the most effective was of finding job was by going to the company directly and drop a physical cv there.
