German language visa course
Hello,
I recently completed my Master's degree in Spain and am now interested in finding a job in Germany. From my understanding, it is important to have German language proficiency to work in Germany. Therefore, I am considering applying for a German language course with a visa.
I would like to know if it is appropriate to mention in my application that my primary motivation for taking the German language course is to improve my job prospects in Germany. I am concerned that this might negatively impact my chances of obtaining a visa.
I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Hello @Thomas Mathew , thank you for asking your question on our platform.
Can I kindly ask you to change your username to a nickname. We want to protect the privacy of the users and do not allow full names to be displayed.
It’s great that you are keen to learn German. You can find more information on the requirements and the visa process for an intensive German language course here: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/other/language-acquisition
Please note that you will need proof of covering your living costs. You are also allowed to work 20hours a week.
In my opinion it should be fine to mention your motivation of learning German, which is to find a job.
However, whether you can change from a language course residence permit to a skilled job residence permit is a decision that the immigration office will take. It would be a good idea, once you have started the course to let them know that you would like to start a job here.
For this you would need to fulfill the requirements for a skilled workers job and apply for it before your residence for a language course finishes.
You can find more information on the requirements here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/visa-skilled-workers
Please let me know if you have any further questions
Best wishes
