Guidance

Dear All,

I hope this finds you well.

I am holding a Portuguese residence permit (D3 - Highly qualified worker).

After being in Portugal for 18 month, next month I can obtain my EU Blue card.

- I want to switch to Germany right after and working there . do I still obliged to apply for German Working VISA/ blue card VISA  ?
- After finding Signing working contract with German Employer. Do I have to apply for Working VISA ?

Dear @mohammed zwayen , thank you for reaching out to us. To my knowledge you can only benefit from more mobility once you have been residing in Portugal with the EU Blue card for at least 12months. Then you can come to Germany without the visa process. You will then still have to make sure that you fulfill the conditions for the Blue card in Germany. Via the following link we provide more information’s on this: https://handbookgermany.de/en/eu-blue-card . Another way could be that you can do the so called “Beschleunigte Verfahren” so a speed up process, this needs to be initiated from your employer in Germany. For this I believe you would still need to apply for a visa. I will also double check and get back to you with more information. In the meantime, please take the time to read the link and if any other questions come up, feel free to post them here. Best wishes
