Job Search & Recognition

Hello

Hello, my name is Abdulmajid and I am from Afghanistan.I finished my bachelors in nursing in 2022. I've been working as a nurse for the last 18 months. I saw your ad on social media and went through your website, unfortunately I could not find the answers to my questions on the website. Could you help me out?

1. Can I apply to work as a nurse in Germany?

2. How long will the process take?

3. I am married so can I bring my wife along with me?

4. Is my degree accepted in Germany?

Thank You

Hey abdulmajid , thank you for contacting us and providing feedback,  I am glad that our social media presence is successful :). To your questions:
1. + 4. Yes, you can apply to work as a nurse in Germany. However, there are certain requirements that you must meet. Your nursing degree must be recognized in Germany and you must have at least a B1 to B2 level of German: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/working-in-germany/professions-in…
2. The process can take from several months to over a year.
3. Once you have a job and a residence permit in Germany, you can apply for family reunification: https://handbookgermany.de/en/family-reunification-for-immigrants

Please, check if the opportunity card is an option for you: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/job-search-o… We have also put together a lot of information here on how to find a job in Germany: https://handbookgermany.de/en/jobsearch-and-application For information on Afghanistan please refer to our Afghanistan info page: https://handbookgermany.de/fa/afghanistan-info If you have any questions, please let us know. You can also ask for advice in the forum, e.g. see if others have had similar questions or topics and write your questions below + tag the person (with @).
