How do I notify the jobcenter when I get job?

This question is probably easy to answer, but for an African man like me who never had an idea of coming in Germany it is not that easy to understand the whole process.

Yes, I have come to Germany this year June, my visa authorizes me to work and so I signed a contract today (so called temporarily job 35 H/week.

I was told I should inform the jobcenter.

Now my question was like :

When?

And how do I have to inform them?

Thank you, but wait I am very proud of you people, you are doing a good job.

I never knew what are the required documents to work, but through your post I was able to get my insurance number, tax number yeah.

Hey @Calvin  , Congratulations on getting a job! You should inform the Jobcenter, that you have found a job, as soon as possible after signing your employment contract. You can tell them in person, by visiting your local Jobcenter and talking to an adviser, or by sending an email/letter to your Jobcenter/Arbeitsvermittler. You can also call the free hotline on 0800 4 5555 00. If have any further questions, please let us know. Best wishes Barbara
