Interpreter for the Job Center

Good day. I went to register as unemployed at JobCenter in Berlin Mitte but they would not assist me and required that I come back with someone who speaks Deutsch to translate. Is there any free interpreter available to help with such?

Hello and welcome to our forum, @mishowstopaz ! Thanks for reaching out to us.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, this issue is quite common. In Berlin, there are volunteers who can accompany you to your appointment and assist with translation.
For example, in Berlin-Mitte, there is a program called Die Brücke. They have some counseling centers in Berlin. You can find their contact details on their website.
Additionally, there are Integrationslots*innen (integration guides) who also offer support for official appointments. They provide assistance in different languages, so you may want to reach out to the guide for your needed language and check their availability. Please find their contact details attached.

I hope you will find support soon. Please let me know if you have further questions. I would also be happy if you like to share your experience.
