Visa & Residence

Irish Citizen migrated to Stuttgart.

I'm an Irish Citizen, and therefore an EU national.

I have moved to Stuttgart and taken up work at a coffeeshop. Registered my address, opened a bank account, and plan to live here long term.

Do I need to register with the Ausländerbehörde or not?

Hi @DaveL
Thanks for your question on our forum.

Your plan sounds great!

As far as this information goes, you need to register at your local registration office, a residence card from the Ausländerbehörde is not required:

It sounds like you have already done this.
EU citizens are generally allowed to work. There are only some obligations if you want to open a business or work in a profession that requires registration.

Here is some more information about EU citizens moving to another country:

Kind regards
