Hello @ajjaan thank you for reaching out to us. There are different ways to migrate to Germany. On our website, Handbook Germany, you can find various types of visa. Since you are planning to work in Germany, with a canadian citizenship, you have two options to get a visa/residence permit. 1. While being abroad: In case you receive a work contract/offer while you are abroad, you can apply at the local embassy in Canada for a work visa. After your arrival in Germany, you are allowed to work immediately and apply at your responsible foreigners department to get a longterm residence permit. 2. Alternatively, with a canadian citizenship, you and you children are allowed to apply for a residence permit within 90 days at the local foreigners department after arriving in Germany already. Please note that you will need a basis for your residence permit, e.g. work, family reunification, etc. Additionally, there is to mention, to be considered as a skilled worker, your degree should be acknowledged. There is a database, Anabin, where you are able to check your university degree. Vocational trainings are always checked individually. Depending on the vocational training, there are different institution, who would be responsible for the acknowledgement process. You can get more information about the acknowledgment process of degrees on Handbook Germany. . Either way requires you to find an apartment/house which has enough space to fit your family. For each family member over 6 years old, you will need to provide at least 12 sqm. A child between an age of 2 to 6 years, only required 10 spm. In the local city hall you will need to get registered: https://handbookgermany.de/en/registration As you mention, your children will continue their school, you can find some initial information about schools in Germany. . If you need help finding your degree in the database or to find the responsible institution to get your degree acknowledgement, please let me know. As well as, if you have more questions.
