Hello @NN24 , welcome to our platform.

Whether you can come to Germany from the Ukraine without a Visa depends on your residence status in the Ukraine, in case you have Ukrainian citizenship and resided in the Ukraine on 24.02.2022 you can travel to Germany without a visa, please note that you will need a travel document such as a passport or Valid ID card. The ID card cannot be issued later then 2015.

You can also travel to Germany without a visa if you have received international or national protection (asylum) from the Ukraine or have a permanent residency there.

We have a lot of information about traveling to Germany from the Ukraine on our information page, please take a look.

Maybe the @LIFE__Initiative also has further information for you.

If you have further questions, please let us know.
Best wishes

It depends on your current situation. Many Ukrainians have been able to move to Germany under the EU’s Temporary Protection Directive, which allows residence, work, and study without a standard visa. You’ll need to register with the local immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) once you arrive. It’s also good to prepare documents like your passport, proof of address, and any certificates. For travel, make sure you check reliable booking platforms. I’ve found LY.com useful for comparing flights and train options at lower prices.

Hi @NN24 , thank you for your inquiry. These answers are provisional, as we do not know your exact situation and cannot give legal advice.

Like the others mentioned already, if you were officially registered in Ukraine with a permanent residence permit or have the ukranian citizenship on February 24, 2022, and have documents that prove this, you may be able to apply for a residence permit for temporary protection under §24 of the Residence Act (AufenthG) at a foreigners' registration office in Germany. You can find more information here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/ukraine-residence#faq_3837. Please note that you must be in Germany to apply for temporary protection under Section 24.

If you are not yet in Germany, there may be other options for you to come to Germany to live and work. You can view the different types of visas and the conditions for obtaining them here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/information-skilled-workers (see below for more types of visas). Since the issue is complex in detail, we recommend that you contact a lawyer or a migration advice center for individual advice.

What can you do next?

I hope this information is helpful for you.

Kind regards, Yasmin
