Is my case eligible for Permanent Residence
I have 2 questions about the residence permit.
My current residence permit expires next month. I am preparing documents to extend my permit.
- I have almost everything ready except the Wohnraumbeschinigung which my landlord needs to sign a letter. However, I provided this document the previous year and haven't moved out. Do I have to give Wohnraumbeschinigung again even I live at the same address?
- I have been living in Germany for 5 years. I want to apply for Permanent Residence.
I have a B1 certificate and Leben in Deutschland certificate. My marital status is separated. Employed (part-time) and minijob.
Only that my permit is only 1 year valid at the moment (and I am applying for an extension next month). Am I eligible for Permanent Residence?
Thank you.

Hey , Thank you for getting in touch. If you've got a valid tenancy agreement, you can also provide a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung), which should be sufficient. From what you've wrote, it looks like you also meet the general requirements for permanent residence in Germany. Hi Barbara,
thank you so much for your answer.
I have read the handbook. I don't think I'm eligible.
Because under the topic, Family members of German citizens state that
- You must prove that you will continue to live with the person (with German citizenship)
This is not my case because I live separately from my husband.
Also, I do not meet other conditions of "You must have made pension insurance contributions for at least 60 months."
However, thank you again for your time. :)
Best, Supha
