Naturalisation for recognized Refugee after 6 Years

Hi there,

After i live in Germany for almost 6 years, i was recognized as a refugee, few months ago i have recevied approval for my ( PR-niederlassungserlaubnis ), so apart of all the requirements for naturalisation i have meet all the requirements, and i work as volunteer for more than 5 years with a German youth organization apart of my full time job.

My question is what is the law for well integrated person with Volunteering work who apply for naturalisation after 6 years ?

i live in Thüringen :)

Hello @Barin , thank you for reaching out to us! . Indeed there is a regulation if you speak German well and have done volunteer work for many years, that you can receive citizenship within 6 years. You can find more information here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/citizenship#faq_146 It is an exceptional rule and I would recommend that you seek advice from a migration counseling center that can help you apply for citizenship. The actually law can be found here: https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/stag/__10.html The exceptional law for naturalization in 6 years can be found in Paragraph (3) I am not sure where in Thüringen you are but you can search for an advice center near you, using the BAMF navi: https://bamf-navi.bamf.de/en/Themen/Kursorte/ . Dear Yara, Thank you for your advise and clarification, last month after our conversation i have prepared all my Doc and then applied for PR at Ausländerbehörde they have approved my application in the next few weeks i have an appointment for finger prints :) So acutally i have a plan the day i recevie back the PR the same dame will hire a lowyer in order to apply for citizenship, I know the road for citizenship is so much ups and downs, but also with this new citizenship inforcment in the next few months will make it possible. so what is your advise for that next step ? will hiring a lawyer make it faster ? Hi @Barin , thank you for your comment. It is not always necessary to hire a lawyer as it is costly. Only if the authorities take a very long time or there are other issues, does it make sense to hire a lawyer. Before going to a lawyer I would suggest seeking out an advice center that deals with the question of naturalization. Did you already book a so called Beratungstermin with your immigration office for the naturalization? This would be the first step.
