Hello , apologies for the delayed response. . The law will likely come into effect in April of 2024, although delays are always possible. For cases that have now received an assurance of naturalization (Einbürgerunszusicherug) it depends on the individual case whether or not you can keep your current citizenship. In general, the assurance of citizenship is valid for two years. However, once the new law comes into effect the assurance of citizenship is no longer valid, since the legal situation has changed. This could become a problem if, for example, your income has dropped significantly. In such cases it is important to contact the authority/case manager and clarify to what extend the assurance of naturalization is still valid after the law changes. If the authorities refuse to do this then you should seek out legal advice. . In some cases, your home country allows you to reapply for your citizenship, this could also be a way to make sure that you have both citizenship.
