paragraph 24 and work
The following question was posted by @immi
I am a Pakistani national and holding and permanent Ukrainian residence permit. in Germany I am living on paragraph 24. I am full time working , I pay taxes, I pay my rent and afford other living costs. As I say I am full time working so I have annual holidays. in 2024 I was not able to use because they dont give us new residence cards, so my holidays were useless because I wanted to go abroad to see my family. The same situation is now I wrote 2 emails to Auslanderbehorde and its 2nd week I dont have any reply from them. my employer need extension confirmation but they dont reply. Question is time is short what I can do ?
I have to Sue on Auslanderbehorde ? or I have to go to meet my family and dont care if I can come back or not ? or it was bad decision to start working here because I see people who dont work and live on Gov. expenses are more happy and calm then me. because I have depression, it effect on my work and behavior.
and even if they dont extend my card then why they dont reply atleast I can find other solution ? I try to change the paragraph.
Regards
Hallo @immi , Thank you for your question. First of all §24 is automatically extended until 2026: https://www.integrationsbeauftragte.de/ib-de/ich-moechte-mehr-wissen-ueber/flucht-und-asyl/aufenthaltstitel-verlaengern-sich-erneut-automatisch-um-ein-jahr-bis-zum-4-maerz-2026-2266260 This means that due to the automatic extension, the possibility to work and travel is also maintained. Please, show this information to the employer, it may help them to understand your situation.
If you are going to travel there may be problems with the airlines when entering the country because your ID card has expired. Thats why you should contact the airline so that you can leave the country again and re-enter Germany. Otherwise you have to go to the local embassy and apply for a visa. You should also print out the information about the §24 extension and don't forget your expired residence titel.
