Request for Guidance: Long Waiting List Threaten My Admission
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a female student from Afghanistan, and hold an admission from a German University for my Master’s degree. Although I registered for a student visa appointment to the German Embassy Islamabad more than 12 months ago, but still I have not received any slot.
I Have repeatedly emailed the Afghanistan Visa Section of the embassy but have not received any positive response. I already differed my studies once to the Winter Semester, 2025, but it now seems that I may not be able to reach this semester either.
The university will not allow any further deferral, which means I am at the serious risk of losing a very important educational opportunity because of not getting a visa appointment. I wonder what to do, please show me a way and guide me!
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your constructive response.
Best regards,
Yalda
Hi, Yalda! Your request has been answered here https://handbookgermany.de/en/forum/thread/clarification-registration-student-visa-appointment-afghanistan-section
Try also to contact the International Office of your German university and ask if they can support your case by writing to the embassy directly. Such letters sometimes help.
Also, check the official information from the embassy here: https://pakistan.diplo.de
If your admission is at risk, you can also write a formal request for prioritization (“Bitte um Terminpriorisierung”) explaining your deadline and attaching your admission letter.
Unfortunately, appointments are very limited, but staying in contact with your university and the embassy is the best way forward.
Good luck!
Anna
