Resident permit extension

I was ex matriculated but had already achieved 85 ECTS out of 90 ECTS. So I want to transfer my acquired ECTS to another university. So I asked if this would be a problem with foreign office. Because my study permit would be invalid since I'm no longer a student.summer semester admission is already closed and I would need to apply for winter semester and resumption is October. I don't want to return to apply in my country and now I'm confused how to explain to foreign office about the basis of my residence permit. Would they give me enough time to find another school? Or what should I expect or how do I approach them. I plan to register for a language program but I'm quite not sure what do. Please advise.

Hallo @EZRAmann , Thank you for contacting us. If your residence permit expires without being renewed, you may have to leave Germany and reapply from your home country, which complicates matters. That's why it's important to secure an alternative status before it expires.

If you want to apply for a residence permit for a German course, you will need to find a course that consists of daily German lessons with a minimum of 18 lessons per week. Here you finde details: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/other/language-acquisition

Please contact the Migration Advisory Service: https://bamf-navi.bamf.de/de/Themen/Migrationsberatung/ or the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) https://www.daad.de/en/ They may be able to give you details. Best wishes, Barbara
