TOURIST VISA

Hello! I have a question. My family is coming to visit me here in Germany. My parents will be the one who will pay for their daily expenses here, I won’t sponsor them. I was told the Embassy will only need an Invitation Letter from me does that mean I don’t have to provide a Verpflichtungserklärung?

Hello @charminq , thank you for your question.
No, the invitation is not a Verpflichtungserklärung.
We have more information of the invitation for a short visit on our website, please take a look:  https://handbookgermany.de/en/visa-invitation-letter

You do not need to mention that you can financially cover for them in this invitation. If you parents are the one covering their expenses then there is no need for a sponsorship.

Best wishes and safe travels for your parents.
