Most of the official offices can offer translators for free you will have to ask in advance of an appointment that a so called "Sprachmittler" or Translator will be present for your appointment. If you are in need for a translator in school or day care in Nürnberg, the following organisation offers free translations: https://www.iska-nuernberg.de/zab/sprachvermittler.html If you need to translate documents such as birth certificates or other official documents this has to be done by a so called state certified translator and can be very expensive. Therefore it is always good to double check if you need the document translated.
