Traveling outside Europe/ internationally

Hello Everyone,

firstly, I hope you’re doing well!
I am a Ukrainian citizen currently residing in Germany under temporary protection (Paragraph 24), with a valid 3-year residency permit. I am employed here and am planning to take a vacation in a few months to visit my best friend in Asia.

My question is whether it is possible for me to travel outside Europe and subsequently re-enter Germany without any issues. I hold a valid Ukrainian passport. Would I require any additional documents to make the trip possible?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Sincerely,

Andrej V.

Hello @FilioBilo , thank you for reaching out to us.

I hope you are doing well too.

You can travel with a valid passport and valid residence for up to 6 months. After 6 months your residency will lose its validity, if you are still abroad.

Please also make sure your residence and passport are valid long enough for you to take the trip and return. Both documents should be valid when you return to Germany.

let me know if you have any further questions.

Best wishes and safe travels.
