Hello, I and my girlfriend came from Ukraine to Berlin, but my nationality is Sudanese. I want to know if I apply for asylum (international protection) and my girlfriend offers temporary protection, will we be separated from each other? Thank you for the help you provided us previously

Hello @Abdelrahman Ali , thank you for reaching out to us again. If you apply for asylum then often you will be allocated to a place that might not be Berlin, there are exceptions to this for example if you had a residence permit before and have decided to apply for asylum. Here we have some more information about refugee accommodation: https://handbookgermany.de/en/refugee-accommodation#faq_3003 I would encourage you to seek out a so called asylum procedure counseling or “Asylverfahrensberatung” to help you further. There might also be other options then apply for asylum as your partner is Ukrainian you should have the right to also receive temporary protection. Although the authorities at Tegel did not regard your claim, a lawyer can also help to see if the authorities can be pressured further. There are various centers that can provide you with further help, also see my answer in this thread for further links to counseling centers: https://together-in-germany.de/en/thread/ukrine-refuge . Please let me know if you have any further questions. Best wishes
