Upgrading Work permit to Bluecard

Hi,
I work as an IT specialist and I got a work permit when I moved to and started working in Munich last year , I couldn't get a Bluecard because my academic qualification did not match the job but after the latest Bluecard changes, can I apply for the Bluecard again?

Hey @ahmed.ganna congratulations on your job! You read correctly, that with the new law there is the possibility to obtain a blue card without an university degree. Therefore you will need to proof at least 3 years of working experience (in the last 7 years). Additionally, the annual salary will be reduce from 58.400€ to around 40.000€. Please note that the new law is still in discussion and needs a final pass. Additionally, I would like to mention that, in case you want to use all the new advantages, like bringing your parents to Germany, currently this is only possible if a Blue Card will be issued after March 2024. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Hi @ahmed.ganna  ,

I wanted to check in with you. Have you applied for a Blue Card already? The new laws are in force now, which means people without formal qualification can also be eligible for EU-Blue Card, as long as one fulfils all the requirements. You can read more about it under the section "Special case: The EU Blue Card for IT professionals without a formal qualification" at make-it-in-germany

Let us know if you have more questions.

Best wishes

Hi,
After the law changed, I successfully changed to a blue card at the beginning of this year.
I was wondering if I can apply for permanent residency already given that I have 1 year holding a normal work permit and another year holding the blue card

Thanks in advance
