US LGBT Refugee with pets.
The election in the US has Trump coming in office and the implications to the LGBT community, many of us are looking to leave the US out of fear of his policies. Policies that will strip away the LGBT community civil rights and place us in prisons.
My question are
1. I would like to move my business to Germany mainly in the Mannhiem area. I know it will take time to establish my company in Germany and Europe in general. What would I need to do to transfer it to Germany? Including equipment.
2. Is there anything in place or anything in the works for Germany to accept asylum seekers from the US due to Trump coming into the office?
3. I have 3 small dogs and I would guess that I would to provide their medical history from their vet here. What else would I need to do to bring them?
4. Am I allowed to seek employment while I rebuild my company?
5. Would I be able to own a place to live?
6. Would I be able to have duel citizenship?
7. Is there any paperwork I could start or contact someone about the procedures?
Thank you for any help.

Hi @Dayna , thank you for reaching out.
I can understand you worry and it’s great that you have already though about these questions, I will try and answer them chronologically.
1. What you need to do to transfer your business depends also on the business that you want to set up in Germany. For more information on self-employment, you can check out our info page: https://handbookgermany.de/en/visa-self-employed and https://handbookgermany.de/en/entrepreneurship
2. No, unfortunately, so far Germany has put nothing in place that will accommodate those who will leave the U.S. due to Trump. As far as I know there are no asylum cases that have been accepted from the U.S.
3. Yes you will need to provide proof of vaccine, blood tests, microchip so your dogs can travel with you to Germany. There is a detailed guide which provides more insight here: https://www.simplegermany.com/moving-to-germany-with-pets/
4. If you can seek employment or not, this usually depends on the visa you enter Germany with.
5. You can buy property in Germany.
6. Yes, Germany allows dual citizenship since this year.
7. Make it in Germany is a good website where you can call or write to for the first steps: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/service/contact-us/hotline
