Hello davedcyrus,

thank you for getting in touch with us.
As a non-EU student living in Bulgaria, you can move to Germany for vocational training, but there are certain rules. You need a signed training contract for a recognised program, usually lasting at least two years, and you must show sufficient German language skills, normally at level B1. You also have to prove that you can finance your stay, either through your training salary or with extra funds, and you need health insurance. With a contract you can apply for a visa for vocational training, and without one you can apply for a visa to search for a training place, but usually only if you are under 35. In most cases, you must apply for this visa in your home country. If you hold a valid residence permit in Bulgaria, you might be able to apply at the German Embassy in Sofia, but you need to check if they accept applications from non-Bulgarian citizens.
Which vocational training are you looking for?
