Zusatzblatt Missing – What Should I Do Before PR Appointment?

Hi everyone,

I have an appointment in two weeks for applying for permanent residency (Niederlassungserlaubnis).

While preparing my documents, I found out from some of my colleagues that a Zusatzblatt (supplementary sheet) is also usually required. They mentioned that it is given when you receive your Blue Card residence permit (eAT).

In my case, I did get the Blue Card and the plastic residence permit (eAT), but I was never given any Zusatzblatt at the time of collection. I only received the eAT card, nothing more.

I'm now unsure whether:

  • I was supposed to receive it and it was missed, or
  • It is no longer issued in certain cases.

Has anyone had a similar experience? What should I do now? Should I contact the Ausländerbehörde and request it? Will they issue it again?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @SMalik

The Zusatzblatt is a document that clarifies the specific conditions attached to your residence permit — for example, which types of employment you are allowed to take up. However, it is not automatically issued to everyone holding a residence permit. In most cases, when the legal basis of a person’s residence status is clearly indicated on the residence card itself, the authorities may choose not to issue a Zusatzblatt.

In many cases, especially with the Blue Card, a Zusatzblatt is often considered unnecessary. That said, even if you are supposed to have one and don’t currently possess it, the Ausländerbehörde has all the relevant information about your residence status in their system. You can clarify the situation directly with them.

I hope this has been helpful.
All the best!
