How does the forum work?

On the homepage, you will find a “stick-figure” icon in the top right corner. If you click on it, you will find the ‘register’ field at the bottom. It is best to start by selecting your preferred language on the homepage. Your account will automatically be created in this language. If you want, you can change the language later.

If you click on "Register", you can choose whether to register with your email address or log in with your Google or Facebook account. Here, we will show you how to register for the Forum. 

Do you have an old “Together in Germany” account? Then you have already received an email from us. To log in again, click ‘Forgot Password?’ and choose a new password. Then, you can log in and have fun on the new website!

• Enter your email address and a nickname in the empty fields. Note: For privacy reasons, we ask you NOT to use your real name but an alias/chat name when registering.
• Please choose a password. Your password must contain at least 8 characters, upper and lower case letters and a number. It must not be your email address. 
• After entering your email address and username, you will be asked to agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Please read it carefully. The consent is necessary to use the forum
• Confirm your registration by clicking on the ‘Register’ button. You will then receive an email from us with a link to confirm your email.

If you want to register with your account from Facebook or Google this is how to do it:

• Click on the icon of the social media account you want to use to log in to the Forum
  
   
• You will then be automatically redirected to the social media account and can log in there as usual with your access data.

There are several ways to take part in the forum. You can register and become active as a communitymember in the forum. If you want to be very involved in the forum, you can become a volunteer. The  forum is supervised by our community managers. The forum is also supported by professional consultants and experts. You can also browse the forum as a guest without registering.

The forum is a place of respectful exchange. Please take care to communicate politely with other community members. There is no place for insults, racism, sexism, LGBTQIA+ hostility, and other types of discrimination here.

Personal information (e.g. first and last name, address, etc.) of you and others may not be published in the forum. Spam, advertising and fake news will not be tolerated in the forum. You can find more information in our Netiquette

Posts in the forum are publicly visible without a login. All visitors to the website can read along. To keep your data and identity protected, the use of the platform is anonymous. This allows every community member to write freely about their problems and experiences. That’s why it’s important that your nickname is not your actual name.

A forum thrives on many people participating actively and writing responses. In addition to other community members, counsellors and community managers will answer your questions. In the best case, you will receive an answer within a few days. If it takes a little longer, please be patient. You are not alone with your question!

If you want to get involved yourself, you have the opportunity to be active as a volunteer. If that’s the case, please get in touch!

The team welcomes your comments, suggestions and wishes on how we can improve the platform. Write to the community managers directly in the forum.
Note: The community managers do not give advice by email or social media. Please ask your questions directly in the forum.

If you do not actively use the forum for more than 2 years (no login), your account will be deleted automatically. We will notify you about the upcoming deletion by email.
