اللجوء والعلاج

Hello, my name is Mohammed from Syria. I am 33 years old and I live in Syria now. I am paralyzed and cannot walk. Why? My spinal cord was not severed, but there is a bruise. The doctor told me that there is hope for recovery, but I need intensive and advanced physical therapy in a country with advanced treatment like Germany. I have not received any treatment for nine years, and no one is taking care of me. I want you to help me and bring me back to life, so that I can receive treatment and work at the same time, even if I remain in a wheelchair and do not benefit from treatment. I love doing good and participating in volunteer work, and since my injury I have decided to dedicate my life to helping people, animals, plants, and every living being. But here I have no opportunities. People treat me as if I am weak, but I am different. I do everything on my own. I go out, drive, cook, and do everything from my wheelchair. I want to travel to Germany to prove to myself and others that I am capable of helping, and to feel like a human being too. Please help me.

Hello @Mhmd13 , thank you for your inquiry. I'm sincerely sorry to hear about your difficult situation. Please note that these answers are provisional, as we do not know your exact situation and cannot give legal advice. There are different ways to enter Germany to stay there legally. One way is to apply for asylum. To begin with, here’s an important piece of information: You can only apply for asylum if you are in Germany. To briefly summarize the process: Within Germany, you would need to contact the German authorities, i.e., the immigration office, an arrival center, or an initial reception center, and inform them that you want to apply for asylum. You will then be taken to an initial reception center for refugees to register. You will either be given an appointment with the BAMF (Federal Office for Migration and Refugees) at the registration or later by mail. At this appointment, you will officially submit your asylum application. More information can be found here: https://life-initiative.org/hgt-registrierung-als-asylsuchender-12-2024-en/. Unfortunately, we cannot determine whether your physical health problems provide grounds for asylum or protection from deportation, as we do not offer legal advice. Information on medical care during the asylum process can be found here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/healthcareforrefugees. You can also find more specific information on the asylum process for people with disabilities here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/asylum-disability. As a result of your disability, you should be considered to be a "particularly vulnerable" individual entitled to special rights. When registering as an asylum seeker, inform the BAMF (Federal Office for Migration and Refugees) staff about your particular condition.
However, as you are not yet in Germany, there may also be other ways for you to come to Germany to live and work. You can view the different types of visas and the conditions for obtaining them here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/information-skilled-workers (check below to see more visa types).
For further information, we recommend you to contact a migration advice center or a lawyer in Germany.

What can you do next?

I hope this information is helpful for you.

Kind regards, Yasmin
