Appealing
I’m appealing a Dublin procedure with an almost expired residency. Do I get an extension or renewal?

Hi @SoAce
, thank you for your inquiry. These answers are provisional, as we do not know your exact situation and cannot give legal advice.
As a rule, you have the right to remain in the country while the legal appeal procedure against a Dublin decision is ongoing. This means the deportation is suspended until a decision has been made on your appeal. You will therefore likely receive an extension or renewal of your current residence or asylum seeker certificate if you apply for it on time. Important: You must immediately apply for this extension at the immigration office that is responsible for you ("Ausländerbehörde"), referencing your pending appeal procedure, to keep your documents valid. We also highly recommend collecting evidence on sending your application for an extension as you have to prove that you sent the application before your residence permit expires. It is best to send the application by fax or registered mail with proof of delivery. For more specific information we recommend contacting a migration advice centre.
What can you do next?
I hope this information is helpful for you.
Kind regards, Yasmin
