Delays in issuance of residence permit

Where to get help? Why am I not getting my electronic card (residence permit) on time?

I am local employee and submitted my application for residence permit April-2022. It has been 5 months that I do not have electronic ID. Auslanderbehorde just provided me a paper and said that electronic ID will take more time may be up to one year. I can not rent apartment without three year residence permit. On other hand, I can not enter Germany with my current papers.

Who can help me to get my cards sooner?

best;

Gh. Nabi

Hello @gazimi , unfortunately this is an issue that many people face. The Ausländerbehörde should provide you with a so called “Fiktionsbescheinigung”. This is a paper that acts as a place holder for your residence permit, while you are waiting for the electronic ID. It should state that you can also travel and work with this paper, ask this at the Ausländerbehörde. It could be more difficult to rent an apartment with a Fiktionsbescheinigung as landlords usually want prove that you will stay in Germany. You can also read more about what a fictional certificate is and when it is issued here: https://service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/326233/en/ Which city is your Ausländerbehörde in? I can research for an advice center near you that might be able to give you further advice regarding your situation. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to write us again Best wishes Yara

@gazimi , reaching the Ausländerbehörde seems to be very difficult. If you have a personal advisor (Sachbearbeiter) it might be faster to e-mail them directly. Otherwise I have found the following advice centers in your area. https://caritas.erzbistum-koeln.de/mettmann-cv/migration_vielfalt/migra… You can contact the ones near you via phone (double check their opening times). Please let me know if they were able to help you further. I hope that you can reach the Ausländerbehörde soon. Best wishes Yara

@Yara__Community_Manager I contacted them today but unfortunately they did not help me. They were recklessly listening to me and said ask help from your social worker, ask auslanderbehorde, which I did several times.

@gazimi I am sorry to hear this! It must be very frustrating to wait this long for your electronic ID and to find an apartment and start you life in Germany. I would recommend that you maybe also seek help from an NGO that supports local staff. https://www.patenschaftsnetzwerk.de/ Please also contact this initiative they help with problems with offices such as Ausländerbehörde. https://www.fluechtlinge-willkommen-in-duesseldorf.de/beratungen-und-an… You will have to send them an e-mail and make an appointment. Please let me know if they were able to help. I hope that you can soon find an apartment/house in Germany Best wishes Yara
